  • I use the powerful benefits of EMDR therapy with clients who are ready to fast track work to address anxiety, depression, phobias, and post-traumatic stress. As a client in my private practice, you will receive your own, client-centered therapeutic process.

I use a warm and supportive, yet semi-structured and intentional approach. My approach is relational, and integrates what we know about neurobiology, ego states, and attachment in order to alleviate symptoms.

I am licensed in Connecticut and Vermont. I am an EMDRIA certified therapist, approved consultant and EMDR trainer. I use systems theory (how we interact with the world and ourselves) and EMDR therapy (helping brains naturally rewire in a more adaptive way), in combination with IFS and various other approaches.

Please note that I only offer EMDR Therapy for clients physically in the states of Connecticut and Vermont . If you do not live in either of these states, in order to receive my EMDR services you would need to travel to either of these states. I provide either in-person or virtual treatment for those in Vermont, and only virtual for those in Connecticut.

  • It’s highly likely. EMDR can be effectively utilized for:

    • Resourcing: We will work to strengthen internal resources while soothing parts of you that feel limited. EMDR utilizes images, emotions, body sensations, and positive cognitions to increase feelings of calm, safety, and confidence.

    • Resolving relationship difficulties: Attachment-focused EMDR works to repair unmet development needs (often called attachment wounding) when we have experienced an absence of care/neglect or abuse.

    • Trauma recovery: While I often utilize EMDR for clients with big “T” trauma (e.g. a major car accident, assault), I also support clients with small “t” traumas (e.g. chronic or ongoing stressful conditions, such as interpersonal conflict, difficult parents, financial stress). One of the most overlooked aspects of small ‘t’ traumas is their accumulated effect. Multiple, compounded small ‘t’ traumas may lead to distress in the nervous system and trouble with emotional functioning.

EMDR is a form of adaptive information processing which helps the brain evolve from limiting beliefs. EMDR may avoid some of the long and difficult abreactive work often involved in the treatment of anxiety, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress symptoms (such as intrusive thoughts, nightmares, and flashbacks), dissociative disorders, depression, phobias, identity crisis, and other adverse experiences.

Research in neuroplasticity demonstrates that our brain has the ability to change, create new neural pathways, and produce new neurons. Because the brain has this ability to change, we have the ability to change our way of thinking and improve mood. Neural pathways in the brain are strengthened with repetition. One way to describe this process is “neurons that fire together, wire together.” Constant repetition of an experience leads to changes within the brain’s structure and how the neurons process that experience. EMDR utilizes our brains’ neuroplasticity to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections, which allows the brain to compensate for injury and adjust to new situations.

  • Per the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Please note: I send a GFE to all clients prior to the start of services and resend this at the start of every calendar year.

  • Yes! I have a centrally located office at “5 Corners” in Essex Junction Vermont.

Online, I see clients located in Connecticut and Vermont using the HIPAA-compliant “Simple Practice” platform for Healthcare.

  • The duration of therapy varies based on individual needs and circumstances. Factors include your challenges, goals, weekly attendance, and other considerations.

Typically, clients attend weekly sessions for at least 4 months, but some may continue for a year or more. If you are looking to accelerate progress, consider therapy intensives (3-hour sessions focused on resolving persistent issues). These are customized to meet your specific needs.

  • Two business days are required to cancel a one-hour appointment. Two weeks are required to cancel any appointment for longer than 60 minutes. All late or missed appointments, except in cases of environmental or medical emergency, are charged using the authorized billing method at the full rate of the services scheduled. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, I will consider the appointment a No-Show and charge your credit card on file. Discounts may be applied at the discretion of the clinical director.

  • You can send me an encrypted, HIPAA-compliant message. You can email me. You can fill out the contact form on this website. If it feels like we’re a good fit, we can schedule a pre-intensive 90 min session or an intake session and off we go!
